This week on the Real Health Conversations Podcast, Lonestar Keto Girl, Amber Wentworth, joins us to share the not-so-sweet realities of sugar addiction. Amber is a food addiction and sugar specialist with a personal health and weight-loss story that many can relate to – trying every diet program, repeatedly gaining and losing, unable to maintain weight loss, and frustrated with the entire process. Her life changed when she discovered the keto diet and sugar addiction at the root of her struggles.
Just like any other addiction to caffeine or cocaine, sugar is pretty addictive in nature too. We have modern science to prove that sugar is indeed one of the strongest addictions known for humans, but how do we know if we are addicted or just having cravings? Amber shares her SUGAR assessment and shares her methods for quitting sugar for good.
If you have been struggling with your diet, with your weight, with your health; If sugar, or sweets, or carbs, or cocktails seem to continually derail your progress; If you have tried to give these items up without success – then you might have a sugar addiction.
What would you be willing to give up to experience the presence of God in your life again? Many of us sign up for a physical detox program, thinking that if our bodies are healthier, then we’re healthier. But a healthy body doesn’t do us a lot of good if we are spiritually malnourished.
My 6 week online group sugar fast follows the book 40 Day Sugar Fast by Wendy Speake. In this sugar fast you’ll learn how to stop fixating on food and other things you use to fill the voids in life and instead fix your eyes on Christ.
We appreciate you, our listeners, and your support of the podcast allows us to reach more listeners, book amazing guests, and spread the messages of honest nutrition, health, and wellness. Thank you so much!
