We are very honored to do thatand it's what keeps us coming back week after week with brand new shows. THANK YOU for showing your support for this show by listening and donating to help keep it going. They journey through the latest health headlines with two amazing guest friends, Mary Shenouda from "The Paleo Chef" blog and Megan Opel from the "Peaches & Cake" blog. And we bring back our special "Secret Headline" this week as the panel gives their spontaneous reaction to the headline "Kraft removes artificial preservatives in its most popular cheese slices". Listen in to hear these ladies discuss why nutrition can be confusing (and the argument that it really isn't), a stunning admission by the McDonald's CEO that their company is fighting to be "relevant" again, the real deal on the "Simply Orange" brand of juice from Coca-Cola, how a pregnant mom's decision to eat a high-fat diet will affect her baby's brain, and so much more. Plus, we'll have some yummy recipes like Megan's "Pistachio-Crusted Salmon" to share from our guest friends that will have you begging for more! We'll rolling along again on "Low-Carb Conversations" and we hope you'll plan on sticking around with us on Fridays for the foreseeable future. Jimmy will continue to be away for a while (except for the epic Episode 100 coming on February 28, 2014) writing and going through the editing process with his next book Keto Clarity: Unleash The Health Benefits Of The Low-Carb, High-Fat Diet, but Dietitian Cassie will keep things rolling along with guest co-hosts and amazing guest friends. Cassie and Aglaee are joined by a sensational pair of guest friends in husband-wife team Kyle and Julia Visser. Kyle Visser is a professional basketball player living and playing in his 5th season of the New Yorker Phanthoms team in Germany. His wife Julia is the founder of "Jules' Fuel" dedicated to sharing the benefits of real food, fitness, travel, and purpose in life, including how she convinced Kyle to give a Paleo-styled nutritional approach a try. Listen in as Cassie, Aglaee, Kyle, and Julia give their take on the latest health headlines, including the 9 foods an athlete would never eat, the Coca-Cola ad that was banned in the UK for being misleading, the negative implications of consuming gluten on brain health (explained well in the YouTube video "The Truth About Gluten"), how exercise can be used therapeutically to minimize stress in your life, and a wonderful TEDx Youth talk by Dr. Katherine Reid called "UnBlind My Mind: What Are We Eating?" Paleo bloggers Juli Bauer and Julia Colling join our host Dietitian Cassie along with guest co-host and fellow registered dietitian Laura Schoenfeld today in Episode 97 of "Low-Carb Conversations With Jimmy Moore & Friends!"

It's been over three months since our last episode of "Low-Carb Conversations" and we've so missed being here with you discussing and dissecting all the latest health headlines. Jimmy Moore is away writing his next book coming on August 5, 2014 entitled Keto Clarity: Unleash The Health Benefits Of The Low-Carb, High-Fat Diet that is sure to follow in the bestselling footsteps of his 2013 release Cholesterol Clarity: What The HDL Is Wrong With My Numbers? (the audiobook version will be available within the next few weeks). Just as we did while Jimmy was away last year with his book, we'll be featuring some guest co-hosts filling the chair with Dietitian Cassie over the next few months (except for our epic Episode 100 that you won't want to miss coming up on Friday, February 28, 2014--MORE DETAILS ON THAT SOON!).

Don't forget we are a listener-supported podcast and rely on your donations to keep the episodes coming throughout 2014. We're incredibly thankful for the support of our enthusiastic fans and would be honored to have you join that group who provides us a financial donation if you benefit from this podcast. CLICK HERE for a quick and easy way to send $1, $5, $20 or even $100 towards the costs of making the magic of "Low-Carb Conversations" happen on a weekly basis. THANK YOU FOR YOU SUPPORT!

With Jimmy away, Cassie invited on one of her fellow RDs to join her in today's episode in the amazing Laura Schoenfeld from the "Ancestralize Me" blog and a staff nutritionist at ChrisKresser.com. She and Cassie chatted about this blog post from Laura explaining the flaws in that U.S. News & World Report ranking of diets that released last month as well as a SheKnows news story that quoted Cassie responding to what U.S. News considers a "healthy" diet. When you get two real food RDs this riled up, it must be an important topic of discussion!

Cassie and Laura are joined by two incredible guest friends in Juli Bauer from the "PaleOMG" blog and author of the cookbook OMG. That's Paleo? and Julia Visser from "Jules' Fuel." This fabulous female foursome had a great time sharing their opinions about some recent health headlines, including four reasons why you shouldn't go on a low-carb diet, more commentary on the U.S. News & World Report 2014 diet rankings, the critical role saturated fat should play within the context of a healthy diet, the World Health Organization (WHO) deciding to pull back the curtain on the health impact of sugar, seven practical ways to begin reducing the amount of carbohydrate in your diet, and so much more! Plus, everyone's favorite segment with delicious new low-carb recipes is back at the end of today's show. I know it's been a while, but you know what to do--pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee and let's talk about it!

New York Times bestselling Paleo cookbook author Elana Amsterdam and LSU college student and Paleo blogger Monica Bravo join our co-hosts Dietitian Cassie and Jimmy Moore today in Episode 96 of "Low-Carb Conversations With Jimmy Moore & Friends!"

Today is our final episode of 2013 for this fun-filled, opinion-driven look at all the latest health headlines of the day. We've seen some truly incredible shifts beginning to happen in the media coverage of topics like saturated fat, cholesterol, calories, low-carb and Paleo diets, and all the other popular topics you've come to expect from this show. While we still have a long ways to go to bring about genuine paradigm-shifting changes, we're getting there. And hopefully "Low-Carb Conversations" is helping to speed up that process just a bit. We're so very grateful to all those people who have chosen to help us continue to bring this show to you week after week throughout 2014. Special THANK YOU to those who have shown us their love and financial support in recent weeks, including June, Robert, Kathleen, Therese, Richard (BIG DONATION--THANK YOU!), James, Martha, and Charles. AUDIO

Have you ever caught yourself watching a television show, reading a news story online or hearing an ad on the radio that just make you want to scream to the top of your lungs? That's kinda what we do here on this podcast every Friday when we take on all the latest health headlines out there making news--and making us mad! Yes, it can be quite maddening at times hearing the constant vilification of saturated fat, the heavy promotion of whole grains as healthy and an over-obsession on calories having any real meaning in the discussion of nutrition. But that's why "Low-Carb Conversations" is here to serve you each and every week. We have two amazing co-hosts who really know their stuff and combine their collective wisdom on diet and healthy living with two influential members of the online health community to share educated opinions about what all these things mean. Challenging those headlines that don't seem quite right and highlighting the good ones that do is the magic that makes this show happen. We'd love to keep doing this for you throughout 2014, so CLICK HERE if you would like to make a contribution towards keeping us on the air. THANK YOU FOR YOU SUPPORT!

Where else can you hear educated opinions that match what you believe about the health headlines of the day than on this podcast? If you're like most of us in the low-carb community, it probably drives you nuts when you see a crazy headline claiming that low-carb, high-fat diets are killing you because you're living proof that this is simply not true. In fact, it could be argued that you are a million times healthier now than you were before you started low-carb, Paleo, primal and real food living. This is why we think "Low-Carb Conversations" is so important to stay on the air to directly challenge the negative headlines and to shine a light on those headlines that are showing how this message is penetrating into our culture. Paleo, gluten-free, low-carb blogger Carol Lovett and professional chef and health blogger Camille Macres join our co-hosts Dietitian Cassie and Jimmy Moore today in Episode 90 of "Low-Carb Conversations With Jimmy Moore & Friends!"

It just feels right having this show back on the air again over the past few weeks dissecting all the latest health headlines out there in the mainstream world to see what kind of messages they are communicating with an unsuspecting public. Yes, we are the great exception to the rule when it comes to reading through the typical editorializing that goes on even in the midst of reporting on scientific studies on diet and health. Make no mistake about it, conventional wisdom on these subjects still rules the day--but we're getting closer and closer to making the messages we communicate on this podcast a part of the debate of ideas...and that's exciting stuff! We need podcasts like "Low-Carb Conversations" to solidify in the minds of listeners what to think about these critical issues that are important to attaining a healthy lifestyle so that they can keep sharing this alternative information to the people within their circle of friends and family who need to hear it the most.

No matter how much you know and believe in the concepts of healthy low-carb, Paleo living, it's nice to have a place of solace, encouragement and reinforcement to help you in this journey. If you'd like to see that continue, then won't you consider making a donation to help us continue to provide a weekly critical look at the health headlines that dominate our modern-day culture. We've been incredibly grateful for the support that so many of you have given us in the past couple of months, but we have tens of thousands more listeners who could help us keep going strong in the months and years to come if most of you shared a very modest donation as little as $5 to carry on. If you like the show and want to keep hearing more of it, isn't it worth a small seed of investment now to reap big dividends in changed lives down the road? CLICK HERE if you want to help us make that dream a reality. THANK YOU FOR YOU SUPPORT!

Jimmy and Dietitian Cassie are thrilled to welcome in a dynamic couple of beautiful peeps to join them in the studio today (it's "Jimmy and the babes"!), including Paleo, gluten-free, low-carb blogger Carol Lovett from the "Ditch The Wheat" blog (author of the Paleo-friendly e-cookbook Indulge: 70 Grain-Free Desserts) as well as professional chef and health blogger Camille Macres from the "Recipe Rx" blog (author of the creatively-titled Paleogasm: 150 Grain, Dairy and Sugar-free Recipes That Will Leave You Totally Satisfied and Begging for More). Listen in as they take on some fascinating health topics, including the sudden rise in Type 2 diabetes that has hit 114 million people in the (rice-loving!) country of China, a confused health advocacy specialist on the subject of carbohydrates, a critical blog post of Paleo, low-carb and primal living with specific digs at Mark Sisson and several others from the ancestral community, a recent paper published in the Journal of the American Medical Association that calls for an end to the diet debates (wishful thinking!), a mainstream column knocking the health halo off of smoothies and fruit juice (FINALLY!), the absurdity of the cholesterol-lowering food products that are marketed to consumers these days, and so much more! This is a fun episode today that we KNOW you're gonna love, so pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee and let's talk!

CAMILLE'S BLAT OMELET WITH GARLIC AIOLI RECIPE

Serves 2

BLAT, if you’re not familiar, stands for BACON-LETTUCE-AVOCADO-TOMATO, and is typically an upgrade to the famous BLT sandwich. Here’s my take using eggs, glorious eggs! This is the best low-carb breakfast on the block.

6 eggs
1/4 cup chopped green onions
Butter, for cooking eggs
6 slices applewood smoked bacon, cooked crispy and crumbled
2 avocados, diced small
1/2 cup grape tomatoes, cut in half
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon Spike or other seasoned salt
1 cup arugula
2 tablespoons Balsamic Reduction (Trader Joe’s and some other markets carry a Balsamic Glaze if you want to skip this step)

Heat a 9-10 inch skillet on medium-high heat. Add about a teaspoon of butter. Whisk eggs in a medium bowl. Add half of the eggs to the hot pan and sprinkle with green onion, salt, and pepper. Turn to low and cover, allowing the steam to cook the top of the egg. You can get crazy and try to flip it, but you risk breaking it. Toss avocado, tomatoes, and arugula with lemon and seasoned salt. When top cooked, remove from pan and add bacon, and salad. Fold over, slice in half, drizzle with balsamic glaze and serve with a dollop of aioli.
